The water level at Lake White was increased to winter pool level following completion of placement of the initial layer of roller compacted concrete (RCC) atop the entire dam crest, installation of a new water level gauge and other dam improvements.

Workers at the site of the Long Lake floodgate structure along Manchester Road in Portage Lakes State Park have been busy installing foundation piles and performing other concrete work. This includes ongoing work on the sill, spillways, wing wall and overflow wall. Planning continues for restoration of the parking lot adjacent to the work site. Project completion is set for late summer, 2017.

Staff from ODNR and Coventry Twp. Fire Dept. successfully exercised the 50-foot long swing gate at the Iron Channel during the morning of April 12. The function of the gate is to cutoff water flow between East and West Reservoirs in Portage Lakes State Park to aid in water control management when necessary.
