Buckeye Lake: Dam Construction Update 6-24-16

On May 26, 2016, ODNR announced that the lake level would be allowed to rise to an interim summer pool. This new interim summer pool level will be two feet above winter pool.

Following completion of the stability berm and cutoff wall, engineers from Gannett Fleming assessed the structure. Based on the findings of their assessment, they recommended to ODNR that two feet above winter pool would be an acceptable level for the water to be maintained at this stage in the project.

Buckeye Lake: Dam Construction Update 6-11-16

During June 14-17, project workers will be doing temporary road repairs on portions of the North Shore Park entrance, Leibs Island Road and Sellers Drive. The roads will be milled down then paved with asphalt. Depending on weather conditions, cars will not be able to drive on the freshly paved road for a short period of time - approximately an hour or more. Through-traffic may be delayed or slowed while work is occurring. We ask that drivers please look for and follow directions of signs and flaggers when traveling in the area.

Buckeye Lake Dam: Construction Update; Summer Plans

During summer, there will be additional work performed on the cutoff wall at various locations. The yellow turbidity curtain in the water will be removed. By winter, the old dam will be cleared of patios, flag poles and other defects. The chain-link safety fence will remain in place at its current location as the area behind the fence remains an active construction site.

Indian Lake Dam: Spillway Replacement Scheduled For 2016-17

ODNR’s design consultant (Stantec) expects to soon complete design for replacement of the spillway and other improvements to the dam at Indian Lake in Logan County.
