Buckeye Lake: Construction Progress Update

Posted on 12/11/2017 by Engineering in Buckeye Lake Dam

With construction progress picking up speed through the holiday season, we wanted to share the latest news on the Buckeye Lake Dam Improvement Project.

The two-shift work plan implemented Dec. 1-7 proved successful in maximizing efficiency and productivity and so will be used until further notice with a pause in trenching from Christmas Day through New Year’s Day. This schedule will involve up to two soil mix trenchers working in two shifts from 6 AM to midnight for 11 straight days followed by three days off. It is not anticipated that trenchers will remain active in front of any one home for more than a day.

Here are details on the latest soil mix trenching progress:

  • 3,199 linear feet (LF) of completed buttress wall
  • 431 LF completed for Pass 1 & 2 (of 3)
  • 862 LF completed for Pass 1
  • All completed work remains subject to acceptance testing and approval by ODNR
  • Depending on testing, additional work may be required in some of these areas

Safety Reminder: The dam embankment from the homes to the lake remains an active construction site. For your safety, site access is limited to emergency responders and authorized personnel.
