Buckeye Lake Construction Underway

Posted on 12/15/2015 by Engineering in Buckeye Lake Dam

Phase I construction is underway at Buckeye Lake to install a stability berm and seepage cutoff wall along the 4.1 mile length of the earthen dam. The state park remains open daily; access restrictions are marked in affected areas. Construction traffic and activity will increase in the coming weeks and throughout winter.

UPDATE ON STATE PARK CLOSURES: The Lieb’s Island boat ramps and Sellers Point fishing access remain closed during dam construction. At North Shore, park visitors will experience parking lot closures and construction traffic. Traffic is reduced to one-lane only on Lieb’s Island Road due to dam reconstruction and the presence of construction traffic through Spring, 2016. The road remains open to traffic and will be maintained during the initial phase of construction.
