Buckeye Lake Dam: Embankment Stability Berm Activity

Posted on 1/30/2016 by Engineering in Buckeye Lake Dam

Activity related to the construction of the Embankment Stability Berm (ESB) and cutoff wall continues from the main access areas of Liebs Island and North Shore. The ESB has been constructed from the Liebs Island access area past Mud Island. Installation of the ESB from the North Shore access area has been constructed past the Yacht Club.

Large stone, also called "riprap" is being placed on the face of the Embankment Stability Berm to protect against erosion of the ESB from wave action.

Construction crews have been removing and storing docks for up to 60 days. Owners may reclaim materials if they so choose. If the materials are not reclaimed they will be discarded after 60 days. To retrieve materials, an appointment must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. To schedule a dock pick up please contact ASI between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, at 740-467-9903.

The state park remains open daily and access restrictions are marked in affected areas. Please be aware of changes to traffic flow patterns and follow signs and instructions from flaggers in construction areas.
