Buckeye Lake Dam: Embankment Stability Berm; Turnaround Areas

Posted on 1/15/2016 by Engineering in Buckeye Lake Dam

Activity related to the construction of the Embankment Stability Berm (ESB) and cutoff wall continues from the main access areas of Liebs Island and North Shore. Approximately 2,000 feet of ESB has been constructed from the Liebs Island access area. Installation of the ESB from the North Shore access area will begin over the next three days.

To better facilitate contractor operations, current plans allow for the construction of turnarounds along the length of the stability berm. The first turnaround, approximately 1,400 feet from Liebs Island is complete and in use by construction equipment.

The state park remains open daily and access restrictions are marked in affected areas. Please be aware of changes to traffic flow patterns and follow signs and instructions from flaggers in construction areas.
