Buckeye Lake: Site preparation of staging areas has begun

Posted on 10/6/2015 by Engineering in Buckeye Lake Dam

Initial site preparation work to establish staging areas has begun on Liebs Island and will be followed closely with activity on Sellers Point and the North Shore. These staging areas will facilitate the construction of the temporary stability berm along the length of the dam which will provide a platform for crews to construct the new dam and act as an Interim Risk Reduction Measure.

As part of this effort, the North Shore boat ramps and parking lot will remain open to the public; however, traffic patterns through that area will be altered. Please be aware that at North Shore, public and construction traffic will be provided with separate lanes and parking. Directions for drivers will be posted and clearly marked.  Please look for and follow any posted signs or directions from flaggers. We also want to inform you that access to state property on Liebs Island and Sellers Point will be restricted to construction crews only.

If you have any additional questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us at: damriskreduction@dnr.state.oh.us or 614-265-6755.
