Cutler Lake: Substantial project completion set for fall

Posted on 8/22/2018 by Engineering in Cutler Lake

Substantial completion of dam and spillway improvements at Blue Rock State Park remains on schedule for Fall, 2018. Final completion is set for end of the year. In recent weeks, workers have placed two concrete slabs, ten labyrinth walls, eight training walls, one wingwall and one cutoff wall as the new spillway continues to take shape. Additional work has included removal of the existing spillway and excavation of bedrock near the stilling basin. A pedestrian walkway above the spillway was to be installed by the end of the week. Workers will continue in the coming weeks with additional earthwork, concrete placement, installation of additional phases of water control, control tower modifications and demolition of the existing spillway.
