Consultant Services Sought For Buckeye Lake Dam

Posted on 3/30/2015 by Engineering in Buckeye Lake Dam

ODNR took the first steps in the process of undertaking comprehensive dam improvements by advertising a Request For Qualifications (RFQ). Professional engineering services are being requested to provide final design services, construction bidding documents, soil borings, surveying and construction administration for the rehabilitation of Buckeye Lake Dam. The dam, constructed 1825-1832, is a Class I high-hazard potential structure. It was said to be at high risk of failure at or above normal summer pool elevation in a recent report from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Among the long-term recommendations by the Corps is replacement of the dam. Respondents to the RFQ have a deadline of April 10 to reply to ODNR.
