Cutler Lake: Completion Expected by End of Year

Posted on 10/10/2018 by Engineering in Cutler Lake

Dam improvements, spillway replacement and construction of additional park amenities are expected to be substantially complete within a few days.

  • The new campground shelter house adjacent to the dam has been completed.
  • Work on the water control tower and drainage improvements is underway along with final grading of the earthen embankment.
  • Planning continued for replacement of the boat ramp adjacent to the camp store at the beach.

After this work is completed, ODNR and its consultant will review all work and develop a punch list of additional items. Final project completion is expected by the end of 2018. The lake then will be refilled and stocked with gamefish in time for recreation next spring.

The labyrinth spillway is just the fourth such designed spillway constructed at a state park dam. Recently completed labyrinth spillways are located at Lake Loramie, Mt. Gilead and Indian Lake state parks.
