Cutler Lake: Lake level lowering continues as work begins

Posted on 8/9/2017 by Engineering in Cutler Lake

Workers have installed construction fencing, a temporary project sign, placed a job trailer, inspected the lake drain and established a work zone as the first phase of dam remediation begins at Blue Rock State Park. The lake sofar has been lowered five feet; target level is 13 feet below normal pool. Park visitors are reminded to stay clear of the construction zone.

The camper cabins, group camp, some campsites, and the picnic area and volleyball court on the west side of the camp store are closed for the duration of the project. All other park facilities at Blue Rock including picnic areas, shelter houses, most of the trail system and the camp store will remain open. The $4.3 million project is scheduled for completion in Summer, 2018.
