Indian Lake: Construction of New Spillway Expected Soon

Posted on 4/7/2017 by Engineering in Indian Lake Dam

Following installation of cofferdam sheets and dewatering, removal of the west portion of the spillway is underway. (The east portion of the spillway currently handles lake water discharge and will be replaced during the later Phase II construction period.)

Removal of the western portion of the spillway and excavation for construction of the new spillway is expected to be completed by the end of April.

A lake level gauge has been installed adjacent to the spillway to monitor lake levels.

Motorists are reminded to observe the presence of workers and equipment at the spillway, which is adjacent to the state highway.
