Indian Lake: New labyrinth spillway beginning to take shape

Posted on 6/21/2017 by Engineering in Indian Lake Dam

The labyrinth design being used in constructing a new spillway at Indian Lake Dam near Russells Point is beginning to take shape. Near continuous preparation, forming and pouring of concrete has resulted in substantial construction progress during recent weeks during the initial construction phase that concentrates work on the western half of the spillway. When completed, a secondary construction phase will focus on replacing the remainder of the old spillway that remains intact and presently handles the discharge of lake water. Motorists and pedestrians are reminded to observe the presence of workers and equipment at the work site, which is adjacent to the state highway at the spillway.

Construction site as of June 21, 2017
