Lake Loramie: Spillway Construction Progress Update

Posted on 2/14/2017 by Engineering in Lake Loramie Dam

Attendees of the annual meeting of the Lake Loramie Watershed Association held February 13 in Fort Loramie were updated on construction progress to replace the spillway and make other dam improvements in Lake Loramie State Park. Following the Notice to Proceed, which was issued by ODNR to Miller Bros. Construction, Inc. last fall, workers have established haul roads and material laydown areas, removed trees and stumps along the dam and outlet channel, started preparations for the bank floodwall and began construction of a cofferdam adjacent to the existing spillway. Additional work has been ongoing this winter as preparation to construct a new dam spillway for the lake. Substantial project completion is scheduled for December, 2017 with final completion expected in Spring, 2018.
