Lake White: Site Visit Made By State Legislators

Posted on 9/8/2016 by Engineering in Lake White Dam

Several members of the Ohio General Assembly and their aides were among invited guests who enjoyed a site visit August 30 and received updates on the roadway and dam improvement projects at Lake White in Pike County. Included were Rep. Andy Thompson (95th district), John Becker (65th), Michael Sheehy (46th), Terry Boose (57th) and Tim Schaffer (77th).

The Ohio Dam Safety Organization (ODSO) which hosted the event, is the Dam Safety Division of the Water Management Association of Ohio and dedicated to promoting the safety of Ohio’s dams. State lawmakers ensure that funding is provided to ODNR so it can complete capital improvement projects throughout its state parks system that include repairs to state-owned dams. Funding also is provided through the General Assembly to provide for roadway improvement projects statewide.

At Lake White, ODOT and ODNR are working in cooperation to make improvements to the embankment dam and adjacent roadways as a combined project.
