A groundbreaking ceremony to officially kickoff the start of construction at Lake White in Pike County is scheduled for 11 a.m. on September 15. Leading the ceremony are ODNR Director James Zehringer and ODOT Director Jerry Wray. The event marks the official start of a combined $31.7 million project to rehabilitate the Lake White Dam and make various roadway improvements. Ohio Routes 104 and 551 will be closed in the immediate area of Lake White for approximately 10 months. Ohio Route 552 and Forest Hills Road also will have closures during the project. Dam remediation work is expected to be completed in time for the Spring, 2017 boating and fishing season. The road projects are expected to be completed by the end of 2016.
