Mt. Gilead: Work Continues in Spite of Cold

Posted on 1/25/2017 by Engineering in Mt. Gilead Lake Lower Dam

In spite of Ohio’s winter conditions, workers continue in their progress on making improvements to the infrastructure at Mt. Gilead State Park Lake in Morrow County, which include constructing a new dam and spillway. While general maintenance of the work site continues, workers recently completed Phase II diversion berms and the diversion channel with stream water diverted through the area where the new dam and spillway will be constructed. Work on the Upper Dam is generally on hold this month while construction efforts remain focused on the replacement of the Lower Dam and spillway. The project is scheduled for completion in Fall, 2017.
