Nearly 100 people interested in ODNR’s remediation of the East Reservoir Dam at Portage Lakes State Park attended public information briefings held December 13 at the Division of Wildlife District 3 office on Portage Lakes Drive. The information shared by ODNR and its design consultant (Tetra Tech) highlighted preliminary plans to renovate the spillways and the 175-year-old East Reservoir Dam. Tetra Tech is expected to complete its final design plans for dam remediation in early 2017, followed by construction that is expected to begin Spring, 2017. Water levels will not be lowered as part of the construction project, which is expected to be completed at the end of 2018.
