Roosevelt Lake Dam: Renovations currently in progress

Posted on 3/26/2014 by Engineering in Roosevelt Lake Dam

Renovations are currently in progress on the Roosevelt Lake Dam. Some of the work involves overtopping protection and renovations to the spillway, retaining walls and the lake drain system, which have required the lake to be drained. As a result, boating, fishing and swimming activities are not available at Roosevelt Lake this season. However, all of these activities continue to be available at nearby Turkey Creek Lake located only one mile away within Shawnee State Park.

Construction began in early March, 2014 and is expected to be completed by the end of Fall, 2014. Following completion, lake levels will gradually return to normal as precipitation allows and water recreation can again be enjoyed.
