Mt. Gilead: Temporary water level drawdown scheduled

Posted on 9/7/2018 by Engineering in Mt. Gilead Lake Lower Dam

ODNR is lowering the lake level at Mt. Gilead State Park to allow for installation of a new pedestrian bridge across the Upper Dam. The bridge will allow for safety inspection and maintenance access to both sides of the Upper Dam which guides water inflow into the main lake. Also, the new pedestrian bridge will serve as a connector as part of the park’s ongoing trail access improvements. The lake level is being lowered four feet beginning September 10 and will be returned to normal level after bridge installation is completed later this year.
