East Reservoir: Work remains on schedule for dam improvements

Posted on 7/17/2018 by Engineering in Portage Lakes

Construction work remains on schedule in making improvements to the dam and spillway structures at East Reservoir in Portage Lakes State Park. A small portion of the work area, known as the Cat Swamp, which is located adjacent to Portage Lakes Drive at North Turkeyfoot Road is being drained to provide for safer construction of the new dam. It will be allowed to refill next year after construction is completed. Deep soil-mixing work is continuing; work hours at the project site generally occur from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays. Expect traffic patterns to remain similar to recent weeks with occasional one-minute delays while work trucks are operating around the work areas.
