Indian Lake: Project approximately 70 percent complete

ODNR says the dam improvements and spillway replacement project at Indian Lake is approximately 70 percent complete. The remainder of the old spillway has been removed and workers now are excavating for construction of the eastern portion of the new spillway.

Indian Lake: West Half of the New Spillway Completed

The cofferdam has been removed and construction completed on the west half of the new spillway at Indian Lake. This portion of the new spillway is now functional and controlling lake overflow.

Indian Lake: Project Completion at Halfway Mark

Spillway and dam improvements at Indian Lake State Park are at 50 percent completion, according to ODNR. The $7.6 million project is scheduled for completion in Spring, 2018. Workers have finished concrete pouring and installation of the new labyrinth columns that form the new structure along the western half of the 700-foot long spillway. Phase II construction, which includes removal of the eastern half of the existing spillway and replacement with new labyrinth design concrete columns will soon begin.

Indian Lake: New labyrinth spillway beginning to take shape

The labyrinth design being used in constructing a new spillway at Indian Lake Dam near Russells Point is beginning to take shape. Near continuous preparation, forming and pouring of concrete has resulted in substantial construction progress during recent weeks during the initial construction phase that concentrates work on the western half of the spillway. When completed, a secondary construction phase will focus on replacing the remainder of the old spillway that remains intact and presently handles the discharge of lake water. Motorists and pedestrians are reminded to observe the presence of workers and equipment at the work site, which is adjacent to the state highway at the spillway.
