Lake Loramie: New spillway structure taking shape

Recently, workers have completed construction of the downstream wingwalls, initiated excavation of the downstream outflow channel and placed riprap between the wingwalls, among an expanded list of work items. Work upcoming includes installing the new sluice gate, stop logs and trash racks, completion of the concrete pour for the spillway control tower, placement of the riprap channel and installation of handrails. The project remains on schedule and is set for completion in Spring, 2018.

Lake Loramie: Annual report for dam project available

On behalf of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and in accordance with Part IX of the executed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the Lake Loramie dam and spillways improvements project, the current annual report is being provided to consulting parties.

Lake Loramie: Construction progress on schedule

Workers have completed placement of the upstream concrete wingwall footings and currently are placing the downstream wingwall footings. Placement of the labyrinth cycles to the control joint remains underway. Concrete placement for training walls and wingwalls is completed. Temporary sheeting will be removed later this month and fill placement should be completed before end of the month. Work progress remains on schedule with project completion set for Spring, 2018.

Lake Loramie: Conditions ideal for concrete work at dam site

Workers in June completed concrete placement for the spillway slabs, stilling basin slabs and wingwall footings. Backfill has been placed around the bank floodwall. Forming and concrete placement for the labyrinth cycles is underway, which shows the initial shape of the new spillway design. Overall, work progress is on schedule with project completion set for Spring, 2018.

Lake Loramie: Construction Progress Update

The pace is fast and production is high as workers enjoy ideal conditions with the approach of summer at Lake Loramie State Park. Among recently completed work was concrete placement for the knee wall and stilling basin cutoff wall, concrete placement for the upstream cutoff wall and the center row of spillway slabs, installation of a drainage system under the spillway and stilling basin slab, and completion of backfill around the cutoff walls. Work underway includes continued concrete placement for the spillway slabs and stilling basin slabs. Project completion is scheduled for Spring, 2018.

Lake Loramie: Spillway Construction Progress Update

Attendees of the annual meeting of the Lake Loramie Watershed Association held February 13 in Fort Loramie were updated on construction progress to replace the spillway and make other dam improvements in Lake Loramie State Park.
